Billing Specialist prepares, reviews and sends claims to various Insurance Companies, Medicare and Medicaid plans either electronically or by paper in the mail. Maintains patient records to work with other staff, insurance companies and or patient in order to collect reimbursement for services rendered.
Duties and responsibilities
Knowledge of medical billing principles is preferred but not required. Data entry and computer work. Math and calculator skills are needed. Must be detailed oriented with communication skills both written and verbal. Must be a motivated team player but also able to work individually and with limited supervision. Ability to stay organized while managing your time and multi-tasking.
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Basic Knowledge of basic billing principles
Billing Specialist work 40 hours per week during normal business hours, location may vary. May have a training in Prescott on occasions
You will be sitting at a desk the majority of the day
EOE/Non-smoking facility. Pre-employment drug screening/background check required. ** All candidates must be able to obtain a DPS Fingerprint Clearance card.
