Position requires the application of knowledge of training programs and occupational information in relation to vocational rehabilitation problems of the physically or mentally disabled, or of other individuals whose background or lack of job skills impairs their employability.  The position involves planning training programs for these individuals; placing them in gainful employment; and supervising them while in training and during adjustment to the job. The duties require knowledge of vocational training concepts and practices; of the employment market; of training facilities; and of skill demands and environmental conditions in occupations and in specific jobs in relation to their suitability for the training and employment of the persons served by the rehabilitation program.  The work also involves the application of counseling techniques and methodology in motivating these individuals and helping them to adjust successfully to the training or work situation; however, full professional counseling knowledge is not required.



Minimum Education:

H.S. Diploma (prefer Bachelors' degree)

Minimum Work Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years experience in similar field or combination of education/experience equal to same.

Required Licenses/Certifications:



1.  Helps individuals and groups sort out their career options.

2.  Conducts interviews with each client to evaluate skills, work history and personality.

3.  Matches a client's education, experience, training and interests to available jobs.

4.  Coaches clients for interviews or arranges for training to help them develop marketable skills.

5.  Works independently while providing services to clients in meeting issues of personal, social and vocational adjustment.

6.  Consults with Polara Health's disability professionals regarding findings of examinations, administers and interprets tests when indicated, and determines eligibility for rehabilitation services.

7.  Participates as a team member and attends weekly, monthly or quarterly staffing and supervision.

8.  Maintains records per agency policy and procedure.

9.  Must be willing to perform all job related travel.

This position is considered Safety-Sensitive by Polara health.
